According to a Texas-based company, the tiny tropical creatures are the first of their kind to be genetically engineered. This was done primarily out of need since the zebra fish, which glows red, is used to spot environmental toxins, as well as fight terrorism by detecting that may have contaminated major sources of drinking water.
